Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish

Steve Jobs’ Stanford Class of 2005 Commencement speech

His lesson to me that I shall remember  are the following four brief points.

  1. You have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.

  2. The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.

  3. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.

  4. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
